The second quarter of 2021 saw interesting trends for the top social apps on the Android platform in Turkey, as revealed by data from Sensor Tower. Here, we break down the performance of the top five social apps: TikTok, Instagram, X, OmeTV – Video Chat Alternative, and Facebook.
TikTok experienced a notable increase in weekly revenue, starting at around $120K in late March and peaking at approximately $190K in early June. Weekly downloads fluctuated, with a peak of about 195K in late March and a low of around 143K in late June. Meanwhile, weekly active users steadily climbed from around 17.4M at the beginning of the quarter to nearly 19.2M by the end.
Instagram saw a more modest growth in revenue, beginning the quarter at roughly $1.8K and reaching a peak of around $6.1K in late April. Weekly downloads saw a slight decline, starting at about 165K in late March and ending at around 136K in late June. However, its weekly active users showed a positive trend, growing from approximately 23.4M to around 24.6M over the quarter.
X maintained a consistent download rate, with weekly downloads averaging around 100K for most of the quarter, though they did see a slight drop to around 81K by late June. The app's weekly active users remained relatively stable, fluctuating around the 10.7M mark throughout the quarter.
OmeTV – Video Chat Alternative showed a steady increase in weekly revenue, starting at approximately $2.3K in late March and reaching about $4.6K by the end of June. Weekly downloads saw significant growth, starting at around 42K and peaking at about 120K in late May, before stabilizing around 71K by late June. Weekly active users showed some fluctuations, starting at around 125K and ending at approximately 111K.
Lastly, Facebook displayed steady revenue figures, beginning the quarter at around $9.5K and maintaining a similar range throughout, ending at about $8.2K. Weekly downloads fluctuated slightly, starting at around 75K in late March and ending at approximately 64K in late June. Weekly active users remained stable, averaging around 20.5M throughout the quarter.
